Duties: Adapt, develop, and co-teach curricula and materials for hands-on environmental education workshops and fieldtrips with a focus on estuaries, salt/freshwater wetland ecosystems (Workshops take place in local schools and parks.); Assist with outreach, scheduling, and coordination of project activities; Keep records of all project activities, prepare and submit invoices for contracted services to the Eastern Queens Alliance; Help maintain live animal exhibit. Attend EQA Idlewild Park Preservation Committee meetings and report on project activities.
Where: Springfield and Idlewild Parks located in Southeast Queens.
Qualifications: Graduate Student, Senior or Junior Undergraduate with major or equivalent in environmental studies, biology, natural resources, environmental science education along with strong desire to work with a variety of people, especially children. Must have strong organizational, interpersonal, oral and written communication skills and high level of self-motivation, enthusiasm, and initiative.
Location: Southeast Queens
Compensation: Stipend: $10.00 per hr.
